I’m a former Google executive who achieved financial independence.
Now I am living on my own terms!
My life story is really one of transformation, adventure, and chasing dreams. Growing up in a middle-class family in Spain, my journey took plenty of unexpected twists and turns. Despite facing some academic setbacks, I was determined not to settle for an uninspired life—I wanted something more. That determination led me through a lot of challenges until, finally, I landed my dream job at Google. From there, my life and career took off—and so did my income. For the first time, I started to think seriously about how to manage and grow my wealth.
Since then, I’ve taken control of my finances, saving and investing strategically to build significant wealth. Today, I’m a successful investor and financially independent, living proof of what’s possible when ambition, financial know-how, and the courage to dream big come together.
By mastering my finances, I’ve gained the freedom and flexibility to live life on my own terms, and now, I’m passionate about helping others do the same.
In 2007, at 32, I landed my dream job at Google after years of uninspired work in Spain. From the start, I earned a solid salary, and over the next 15 years, I worked hard and smart, increasing my annual income by 5x. During that time, I not only built wealth at a fast pace but also had a lot of fun along the way—traveling the world and experiencing countless adventures.
During my life I’ve had the privilege of living in amazing cities like Madrid, London, Dublin, Singapore, Manila and now Saigon, soaking in their unique cultures and enjoying both their hidden gems and well-known treasures.
This is the secret sauce—simple, yet challenging. As my income steadily increased through raises and promotions, I kept my expenses in check. The result? Every year, I saved more than the year before. In 2016, I bought my first two-bedroom apartment in cash and rented it out, creating my first stream of passive income. A couple of years later, I did the same and also began investing in the stock market, generating even more passive income through dividends.
As my salary and investments grew, I stayed disciplined with my spending. The formula was clear: save, invest, repeat! Save, invest, repeat!
I achieved financial independence at age 45. By that time, I had built substantial wealth and created multiple streams of passive income from rental properties, company dividends, and fixed income investments. My passive income now exceeds my living expenses, allowing me to live the life I’ve always envisioned. I have the freedom to work or not work, to do or not do, to live here today and somewhere else tomorrow.
Financial independence has given me options I wouldn’t have otherwise—and, most importantly, peace of mind and a lifestyle I enjoy every single day.
My journey to financial independence began when I was hired at Google, but that’s only part of the story. It wasn’t just luck—it was a result of hard work and a focused mindset. Even if Google hadn’t hired me, I was confident I would land a similar role because I was determined to make it happen.
In 2007, while living in London, I applied for an Account Manager position at Google’s EMEA HQ in Dublin. Having lived in Dublin before, I had an international edge. After months of perfecting my resume and interview skills, I was ready when the Google opportunity came, and I seized it!
Now, you might wonder if I have a job lined up when I moved to Dublin and London. The answer is no! I moved without any job and only a very basic understanding of English, but I was determined to succeed—and I did.
Luck is random, but real success comes when preparation meets opportunity. If you're ready to take control of your finances—whether it's paying off debt or achieving financial independence—start now. You've already taken the first step by being here.

A quick summary of my career at Google
My career at Google began in an international team supporting new advertisers. Soon I transitioned to the Spanish team, focusing on medium and large advertisers in sectors like finance and education. In 2010, I was promoted to Manager, gaining valuable management experience and refining my sales skills as Google's approach evolved.
Inspired by a trip to Singapore, I set my sights on working there. After a year of perseverance, I secured a leadership role in Singapore, where I remotely led a large team in Manila, supporting the Australia and New Zealand markets. My responsibilities later expanded to include Japan, Southeast Asia, Greater China, and Korea.
In 2017, I relocated to Manila to oversee a complex operation, growing the team from 100 to over 300 people. A subsequent promotion brought me back to Singapore in 2018. In 2021, I made the decision to leave Google and return to Spain, so my daughter could meet her extended family and learn the language. Our plan was always to return to Southeast Asia once she mastered Spanish, so we successfully moved back in mid 2024.

We all have a unique blend of strengths and weaknesses that shape our lives. While we may think we know ourselves well, personality tests can offer surprising insights—confirming what we’ve sensed or revealing traits we hadn’t considered.
One of my favorites is the CliftonStrengths test, which helped me identify my core talents. It categorises strengths into four domains: Executing, Relationship Building, Strategic Thinking, and Influencing, with 34 themes overall.
My top five strengths are mostly in the Strategic Thinking domain:
This focus on Strategic Thinking has been key in shaping my finances and future, enabling me to take a big-picture approach, craft long-term strategies, and explore creative ways to build wealth and live life on my terms. The result, financial independence!
